GETTING READY FOR THE TRIP TO VERONA, FROM 10 TO 13 APRIL WINE TASTINGS IN THE HISTORIC CENTER AND A MEETUP WITH INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
The Brachetto d’Acqui Consortium is getting ready for the trip to Verona for the 50th Vinitaly, scheduled for April 10 to 13. The Consortium is participating in the Piedmont Land of Perfection group, in the Piedmont Pavilion, no. 10, stand 1.1:in addition to the classic tastings ofBrachetto d’Acqui (sparkling, “frizzante” and passito) and Piemonte Brachetto 100%, this year a mixologist – a cocktail specialist – will offer Brachetto-based mixed drinks, fresh and light, ideal for spring and summer.
Another new initiative, on Sunday, April 10, features Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG at the “Vinitaly and the city”” event, an off-fairground promotion held in the center of Verona: from 4 to 8 p.m., in the famous piazza Bra (site of the Arena), tourists at “Test and Visit Arena” will be invited to enjoy a glass of Brachetto d’Acqui immersed in the atmosphere of the Arena.
Tuesday 12 April, Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG will meet with international buyers at a tasting led by a sommelier from AIS Piemonte (the Italian Sommelier Association): the initiative is “Tasting Piemonte”, organized by the Consorzio Piemonte Land of Perfection. The meeting is included in the incoming program for Vinitaly International, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Economic Development and ICE. Delegations are expected from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Poland, the USA and Canada, Russia, Japan and China. At 10, the spotlight will be on Brachetto d’Acqui and aromatic wines from Piedmont, accompanied by Robiola di Roccaverano DOP (a PDO cream cheese) and Nocciola IGP (hazelnuts).

March 13th, 2015 The Consortium for the Promotion of Brachetto d’Acqui will be back at Vinitaly this year, in Hall 10, Stand L3, with a new stand layout intended to represent, far from home, the philosophy of an entire territory whose watchwords are welcome, educate and entertain the visitor.
The backing soundtrack for tastings and events will be supplied by a live piano played by the Verona maestro Maurizio Erbisti, making the atmosphere at Vinitaly a little sweeter. “Music for the palate” is, in fact, the leitmotif of the 2015 promotional campaign, which puts a metaphorical accent on the harmony of Brachetto. Figurative art is also called upon to offer homage to the area of origin: the hills around Acqui will form the background of the stand, along with the artwork entitled “The sentinel of Brachetto”, depicting a woman holding a bouquet of roses, the predominant note in the aroma of Brachetto, and composed entirely of Brachetto d’Acqui.
Offering a glass of Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG – Piemonte Brachetto DOC , straight or in combination, is a gesture that exemplifies the hospitality of the area of origin of this aromatic varietal: the Consortium will propose the “Brachetto Time” cocktail, made with strawberry juice and Brachetto, and the “Brachetto Time +”, with strawberry juice, vodka and Brachetto, along with some combinations strictly Made in Piedmont, designed to enhance the sweetness and harmony of Brachetto, which guests will be invited to sample in the following versions: straight-cork (effervescent), spumante (sparkling) and, for the first time, Passito Docg. This last, in particular, a raisin wine, will be offered in combination with the classic Acqui amaretto cookies, Roccaverano PDO cheese, Ponzone ‘filetto baciato’ salami, fresh fruit and chocolate made by Piedmont’s master pastry chefs.
Telling the story and illustrating the characteristics of this versatile and timeless wine in a professional manner is the educational aspect of the space, a necessary support for tasters, who are accompanied along an informative tour as they learn to appreciate the extraordinary qualities of Brachetto.
